Herman Roosloot Head of Sales

Year 1963, Travel Agent/ Master of Commercial Sailing Ships/ Engineer in the building of roads, bridges and embankments

Herman Roosloot knows the travel industry from a completely different perspective. The “All rounder” lived and worked for 8 years in Friesland, The Netherlands as a Yacht Salesman. Prior to this Herman organised and sold group tours for the TUI partner company KRAS NL. Herman moved to Germany in 2003 and has been part of the CarDelMar team since 2006.  As head of the sales department for travel agencies, he looks after the agents and is responsible for the attractive terms of CarDelMar. “At CarDelMar the sales through Travel Agents are continually growing” explains Herman Roosloot. “The customer profits twice - they receive competent advice from their local travel agent and value for money from CarDelMar.”

What do you contribute to CarDelMar?
My experience in the world of travel agency and my Dutch “hands-on” mentality. I think and negotiate pragmatically.

On the road - what is your favourite road to drive along?
Far away from the motorways, through the beautiful vast countryside - I enjoy driving the most when it is not in a hurry.

What are your favourite holiday destinations/resorts?

The mountains and the sea. As an enthusiastic sailor I like the Wadden Sea, Germany and the North Sea Coast. When driving I love the mountains and the numerous winding roads they have to offer.

What is your favourite holiday car?
It’s actually a motorbike! With relation to cars I am an advocate for more environmentally friendly sports utility cars. I find them practical, safe, roomy and as a driver, you get a good view! They have one characteristic that is particularly important to me as someone who comes from The Netherlands: You can tow a caravan.

En-route in a rental car: What has been your best discovery whilst on holiday?
The Großglockner High Alpine Road, Austria was for me a totally amazing (and unfortunately expensive) experience. More beautiful panoramic views are hard to imagine!
