An Unforgettable Destination

On the northern point of the Mediterranean island Malta, in between Salina Bay and St Pauls’ Bay you will find the holiday resort of Bugibba.  Those of you that know Malta will know that the island is a true paradise.  Crystal clear waters, sun and breath-taking scenery will make for an unforgettable experience.

The former British colonial island is situated between Sicily and Tunisia and enjoys an excellent reputation as being the pearl of the Mediterranean. Apart from the original language of Maltese and until today they have managed to preserve the English language.  The country consists of the 3 islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino that are not only impressive due to their breath-taking scenery but also due to their fascinating history and culture.

Take Part in Water Sports or Simply Relax

Bugibba is the opposite to many of the rural parts of the island so as to say it is more tourist orientated.  The resort is full with restaurants, bars and souvenir shops that satisfy the visitors no end.  However, it was not always like this.  Twenty five years ago Bugibba was a tranquil fishing village that not a single tourist knew about.  Today the resort along with Qawra and St Pauls Bay are 3 of the most popular holiday destinations in Malta and all three can be easily reached in your hired car.  Further out from the shoreline you can swim or stretch out on the giant rocks and enjoy the sun.  More advanced swimmers and water sports fanatics will especially enjoy the untouched natural environment.  Diving and snorkelling are particularly popular as the sea on the north coast offers a fascinating insight into the under water world.  Those of you who would prefer to lie on the beach, we recommend that you take a trip in your rental car to the popular beaches- The Golden Bay or Mellieha Bay as well as Paradise Bay located in the North of the Island.

Picturesque Views

Apart from sunbathing the region has plenty to offer.  For example in the garden of “New Dolmen” Hotel, you will find the remains of a Neolithic Temple.  It is worth seeing the Temple at night as the grounds are beautifully lit.  The Qawra Tower is also worth a visit.  The structure was built as a watch tower in the 17th Century by the Knights of St John.  Today it offers a picturesque view of the coastline of St Paul’s.  Of course you should not miss out on seeing Bugibba’s neighbouring resorts of St. Paul’s Bay and Qawra.  Especially worth seeing is the Parish Church of St Paul which is situated in the heart of the old town in St. Paul’s Bay.  Interestingly all 3 resorts are connected which makes it really easy to discover all these sights on foot.

Mobility is Essential

In order to experience the further highlights Malta has to offer you will definitely need your hired car.  A place that should be visited without question is the Maltese capital of Valletta, that was built in 1565, the city possesses many historical treasures and was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  An exciting night life awaits you in the towns of Paceville and St.Julians- they have everything to satisfy a visitors needs!  There is something a little more authentic about the rural areas too.  Here you will see traditional villages, culinary delicacies and you will most certainly meet the friendly locals who will be delighted to share some insider tips!
