Once you arrive in Georgia, you will feel like being in the middle of the "Gone with the wind" movie set: typical south wooden houses and gorgeous sunsets. Or as soon as you see the cotton fields, you will think about Ray Charles's song "Georgia on my mind". The capital of the state is Atlanta. Its international airport, "Hartsfield Jackson International Airport", is one of the busiest airports in the world. This is where you will certainly start your journey. Atlanta is really worth the visit. You will take the opportunity to visit the famous CNN tower which happens to be the headquarters of the famous news channel, CNN. You can also visit the World of Coca Cola Museum which relays the history of one the largest soda producer since its origins to nowadays. If you are fond of history, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Martin Luther King and will have the possibility to visit the native home of the illustrious human rights advocate. At the Georgia Aquarium, the biggest tank in the world, you will have the opportunity to admire a multitude of aquatic species ranging from the seahorse to whale shark. After Atlanta, the best thing to do is to rent a car and drive through inland Georgia. While going through the cotton fields and the wooden houses, you will experience the warm welcoming of the local people. American rock, folk and blues fans must go to Athens. Famous bands such the REM and the B-52's are originally from there. A lot of other bands perform live in different clubs of the city. Athens was named in 2003 best student city for its rock scene by the magazine Rolling Stone. Savannah city is a little bit quieter. Its downtown, listed as national heritage, displays lots of green parks. You will be charmed by the historical houses. It is mostly in Savannah that the movie "Forrest Gump" was shot. You will be able to play again the praline scene where Forrest is waiting for the bus sitting on a bench. If you are a sports fan, you will be spoiled in Atlanta. After having been to the Olympic stadium of the summer games of 1996, go watch the Atlanta Hawks play a basketball game, or the Atlanta Braves play a baseball game or the Atlanta Falcons play football and enjoy the warm craziness of the stadiums. For a more student like atmosphere but nevertheless quite animated, you can watch a game of the University of Georgia team in Athens. The best way to discover the "fishing state" is to drive with your rental car through the marshy lands of the state or the awesome Atlantic coast.
