Lodi is considered to bet the jewel of the Lombardy in northern Italy. Already in the 17th century the name of the city stood for high quality arts and crafts. In the early modern era the manufacture of ceramics began, reached its peak in the 17th century. In the Epoch of industrialisation the goods lost their competitiveness. It wasn’t until the end of the 1970’s when the tradition began to live again. Since this time a special vocational training centre for ceramic manufacture, ceramic craftsman and designers has existed.
