From Pescara you can set forth and discover some of the different places to visit.  It’s best to find out some information from the local tourist information centre and/or travel agents.  Some of the particularly appealing destinations have already been mentioned: In August, at the time of the fishing ban- fisherman offer boat trips from the harbour.  A trip to Tremiti Islands can be reached in about 2½ hours from Pescara and should definitely not be missed.  Even the crossing with a stop in Vasto is unbelievably beautiful.  The islands themselves with their limestone formations and the crystal clear water are a particularly wonderful sight.  Those of you that are interested in culture and architecture should visit the city centre of Vasto.  The Piazza Rossetti has been preserved in the charm of the previous years.  In the middle of the old town you will come across the medieval Castello Caldora.  A further fascinating destination for an excursion is the mountainous hinterland of the city.  In your hired car it can be reached in the shortest time.
