The inner city palace which is called Palazzo Madama is an attractive trip and a sight-seeing destination as well as being a famous and popular Art Museum of Today.  Here, you will come across old Roman architecture in conjunction with a Baroque addition.  The Roman part of the building was currently thought of as a city gate until it was developed into a castle in the middle-ages.

 An insiders tip is that it’s worth strolling along the numerous, pleasant, historical cafes in the small narrow streets and side streets in Turin.  These cafes present an opportunity to go and enjoy a typical Italian Latte Macchiato in a comfortable atmosphere.  Also there is no need to forgo a shopping trip as Turin is absolutely perfect due to the fact it has plenty of markets and shops to be found.  The markets are particularly popular with the locals as well as the tourists- you will find everything there from groceries to clothing to jewellery and handmade confectionary.  Also for those of you on a lower budget, the Turin markets are ideal as you can try the stall holder’s wares again and again.

Europe’s biggest Open-Air-Market is the Porta Palazzo Market and you will find this in the middle of Turin.  Those of you that are on the look out for antiques- you cannot afford to miss the Balon Market near to the city centre of Turin- there you are bound to find your showpiece.  Turin’s markets are called the heart of the city by the residents- so you should definitely not miss out on a visit to them and to enjoy the Italian culture to the full.  Turin is definitely worth making a stop in on your tour through Italy.
