The modern city of Milton Keynes is ideally located near to the M1 motorway, approximately 70km (43 miles) north-west of London. Modern in the truest meaning of the word: Milton Keynes was planned in the second half of the 20 century and was designed and aroused particular interest internationally for its futuristic comfort living. Many old buildings are there to be admired, temples, statues and mysterious constructions- you will believe that you will not see such building again unless you find yourself in an enchanted forest.
When you think of an enchanted forest, you will certainly think of Sherwood Forest. No problem: from Milton Keynes, you can travel easily up the M1 in your car hire a few miles north and you will reach Nottingham- the city of the legendary archer Robin Hood. Here, you can find out all about the man in the feather cap as well as the fact that Nottingham has preserved its old traditions. The oldest pub in Britain: Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Inn” from the times of the crusades is a treat for every visitor. The castle of William the Conqueror that was built in 1068 has everything from the middle ages as well as a contemporary art exhibition.
