What will happen if my rented vehicle breaks down or is involved in an accident?

Most local car hire companies offer their customers a 24-hour emergency breakdown service. In the event of damage, it is imperative that the following procedure is observed:

  • inform the rental agency immediately
  • if a third party is involved, contact the local police, who will prepare a report.
  • when you return the hired vehicle, ensure that the car hire agency compiles a damage report that is to be signed by the local car hire company and by you.

Please read the rental terms and conditions carefully when collecting the vehicle. Repairs can only be carried out with authorisation from the local car hire company.
